This reliable and reasonably priced seafood restaurant has been a fixture in downtown Evanston since 1985. The small fish counter in the front selling retail has been removed and the bar area has been renovated. The menu is fish and seafood, including a large selection of oysters. There is a slight Cajun slant to the menu with items such as blackened catfish and crayfish etouffe. Fresh fish selections as well as the daily specials are listed on huge chalkboards around the room. This is in addition to the large everyday menu. On one visit I had the sizzling shrimp and scallop combination and on another the grouper with a tomato basil sauce.   On a previous visit, we shared an assortment of raw oysters from Nova Scotia. I really liked the rock shrimp po'boy. The wine list is small but adequate and there is a great assortment of beers on tap and in bottles. Service is usually good although it was spotty on our latest visits. On weekends, the restaurant can get very crowded and the wait for a table will be long but they do take reservations.
