This excellent Italian restaurant located well north on Milwaukee Avenue has a great menu. There are tables on Milwaukee Avenue for outdoor dining and an enclosed patio with a retractable awning roof and outdoor heaters just off the main dining room. Antipastas include polenta, carpaccio, rolled eggplant with goat cheese and grilled calamari. We had a delicious salad of roasted asparagus with chopped tomatoes, gorgonzola and a fig balsamic vinegar. We also liked the cozze arrabiata, spicy mussels. There are several thin crusted pizzas are on the menu. I tried the smoked salmon and brie pizza with a cracker-like crust. Entrees are served with a choice of the two daily soups at dinner. At lunch, the choice is soup or salad. I enjoyed the risotto with shrimp and zucchini in a saffron seafood broth. I also liked the veal scallopine Marsala on bow tie pasta. The linguini in white clam sauce or red clam sauce are both good. There is a nice wine list and a dessert list with all the usual items; tiramisu, cannoli, spumoni and profiteroles. They do have tartufo which is my favorite Italian dessert. Service is good.
